Telangana Cabinet Meet: KCR's Key Decisions

The Telangana Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday for more than eight hours took several key decisions. Firstly it decided to extend the ongoing lockdown for another ten days with some relaxations. But, the Chief Minister KCR decided to maintain lockdown in Sattupalli, Madhira, Nalgonda, Nagarjuna Sagar, Devarakonda, Munugodu, Miryalaguda among other places where the virus spread is yet to be controlled.

The Cabinet directed the authorities to issue ration cards to 4,46,169 eligible people in the state within 15 days.  After this, Cabinet held a review meeting on the measures taken by the Agricultural Department for the coming monsoon cultivation.  

Agricultural Extension Officer (AEO)s were directed to be fully accessible to farmers to provide them with crop-related advice and guidance to farmers for monsoon cultivation. The Cabinet also decided to set up rice mills and other food processing industries, not less than 250 acres each.

A sub-committee will be appointed to review the condition of government hospitals, improved facilities, staff and other infrastructure as decided in the cabinet meeting. Nineteen diagnostic centres in all district centres are getting started from Wednesday.

The Cabinet has decided to set up an AIIMS-style dispensary on the vacant jail premises in Warangal to provide all kinds of services.

In the wake of news about the third wave of coronavirus, the Cabinet has directed the staff to equip the necessary infrastructure and medicines to take full precautionary measures.
